This four-session series is designed for individuals brand new to beekeeping or those seeking deeper beekeeping knowledge. The four ½ day sessions will take participants through the annual cycle of beekeeping from establishing a hive, caring for bees through the seasons, troubleshooting, harvesting honey and preparing for winter. All instructors are Master Beekeepers and/or members of the Sacramento Area Beekeepers Association. Our instructors have both an in-depth know of bees and beekeeping, and substantial beekeeping experience. Each session is a combination of lecture and a hands-on workshop. The book, First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith Delaplane is recommended for purchase from Amazon or other bookstores.
